Materials & Care
What fabrics do you use?
TI YA RA works with natural and naturally-derived fibres, including linen, silk, cotton, TENCEL™ lyocell and regenerated cellulose fabrics. Exact composition is stated for each piece and takes precedence over any general material description.
How do I care for linen?
Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle or hand wash. Do not tumble dry. Lay flat or hang to dry in the shade. Iron on medium heat while still slightly damp if you prefer a crisp finish, or embrace the natural texture. Linen softens beautifully with each wash and gains body over time. This is a feature, not a flaw.
How do I care for TENCEL™?
Follow the care label attached to the exact piece, especially where TENCEL™ is blended with another fibre. If the label is missing or unclear, contact TI YA RA before washing.
How do I care for silk?
Hand wash in cool water with a gentle, pH-neutral detergent. Do not wring or twist. Roll in a clean towel to remove excess water, then dry flat in the shade. Never tumble dry. Iron on the lowest setting with a cloth between the iron and the fabric. If you are unsure, we recommend professional dry cleaning for silk pieces.
Do you use natural dyes?
Where a piece uses natural dye, it will be stated on the product page with care guidance for that exact garment.
The Tending Rite
What is The Tending Rite?
Authentic TI YA RA pieces may return through The Tending Rite. Eligibility, work, cost, postage and timing are confirmed after assessment.
This is a commitment to the object's life beyond the transaction. Read the full philosophy on The Tending Rite page.
How do I submit a tending request?
Use the form on The Tending Rite page. Share the piece name, what needs attention and any history you wish to include. TI YA RA will assess the request and reply with the available next step.
Does The Tending Rite cover adornments too?
Authentic TI YA RA adornments may be submitted for assessment. TI YA RA confirms what can be restored safely, together with process, postage and timing, after reviewing the piece.
